If you happened to stumble onto Howard Street during your lazy Sunday afternoon stroll yesterday, you probably stopped dead in your tracks in front of OC's doorstep, where an elaborate Lambo decked out by the artist Rashaad Newsome had pulled up to the curb, popped its wing-like doors and trunk, and brought the party to South Soho. The occasion? The launch of OC friend Solange
's debut album from her new record label, Saint Records.
OC was one of three NYC locations where advance copies of Saint Heron
(out today) were available to purchase. The compilation, available in CD and vinyl at OC stores, features some of Solange's top R&B artists of the moment––a roster that includes OC faves like B.C. Kingdom
, Sampha, Cassie
, and more. The afternoon had the excited energy of a block party––people milled around and chatted to the beats of the record bumping on the outdoor speakers, and some people even partook in double dutch and hula hoop contests to win prizes. See how it all went down below!
