Before she starred in Fellini's La Dolce Vita (a role she was offered on the spot), recorded a song with Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones, inspired Bob Dylan's song "I'll Keep It with Mine", met Andy Warhol, became the Velvet Underground's frontwoman and a legendary recording artist, Nico was born Christa Päffgen in Cologne, Germany. The "six-foot German goddess," as John Cale once described her, transfixed everyone she crossed with her iciness and fragile glamour. Because her 73rd birthday would have been this weekend, we collected some of our favorite Nico moments and paired them with a few OC presents.
