"I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member," said Groucho Marx. Or was it Woody Allen? No, wait, it was both. But it could also have been Scott Sternberg. And so he made his own club, Band of Outsiders, with its own cult following. And these are the clothes that they would wear at Scott's club: updated Sperry top-siders and elegant, slim-line ties. Band specializes in re-appropriating old-school East Coast staples and infusing them with breezy West Coast charm, and nothing says "country club" like ties and boat shoes. Fall's boat boots and dotted knit ties are a perfect blend of old-fashioned prep and California edge.
