For Summer 2017, Opening Ceremony takes inspiration from the journeys of American immigrants. Drawing on craft traditions brought from the Baltic, the collection's aesthetic is based on folklore of years past. Look close and you'll find a melting pot: feminine silhouettes mix with menswear details, ornate lace with simple shapes, period embroidery with modern asymmetry. Romantic and versatile, these are clothes for dreaming, or, as the Lithuanian proverb puts it, "Sėdi kaip pabučiuotas"—sitting like you were just kissed.

Loose, airy pieces form the core of the collection: think chiffon maxi dresses, ruched cotton tees, and crisp tops with fluttery sleeves. Meanwhile, classic menswear details keep things grounded. An off-shoulder dress and puff-sleeve cardigan feature necklines inspired by French-cuff shirting. An oversized hooded button-down and tank dress come in silk jacquard, whose scintillating diamond geometry is borrowed from foulard neckties and handkerchiefs. An oxford-like top features panels of poplin stripes—meanwhile, the matching skirt arranges them into asymmetric layers for a deconstructed look.
