It’s officially NYFW and the madness is upon us, in a good (yet always sleep-deprived) way. Ahead of our show on Sunday night, we stay busy bopping around the city from show-to-show capturing the collection essentials and backstage highlights at some of our favorite brands showing in New York. Last night, we headed over to Skylight Clarkson Sq. to get a breath of clean country air, peep the new Le Specs shades, the Spring/Summer ‘18 collection, & Adam Selman’s sweet face. Below we fill in the blanks to a self-questionnaire—giving you the details on all the parts we think you should know about before you get to the stuff you really want to see … THE CLOTHES.
When we pulled up to the Adam Selman show the vibe was …
Inviting. It’s been a popular social statement to proclaim “I’m leaving America” based on the current presidency. Adam’s backstage was hectic, but seeing the collections classic silhouettes, splashes of colors, an abundance of denim, and pure Americana patterns, was a good way to remind us of the escapism we can find in nostalgia, as we move forward.
If Adam allowed us to leave with one piece it would be?
The green picnic print blouse and matching short skirt with screen printed contrast stitching. The color is a good play on the classic red gingham American blanket. Also (we have to give you another option) the new Adam Selman x Le Specs Flex Sunglasses with tinted lenses, great mix of pretty/pervy/beach ready.
What will we do until the collection releases? Read (over and over) Adam Selman’s poem that everyone’s favorite sweetheart left for his guests:
HIGH-WAISTED HAIKU, MY BLUE
TO YOU I’LL BE TRUE
