We just kicked off our men’s fashion month in London where we were lucky enough to spend time with some of our favorite UK designers—backstage and in front of the runway … and damn it flew by. So we should probably catch you up real quick. Below we give you all the fun stuff that goes down at fashion week minus the parts that involve airport security—Here it goes:
For Autumn/Winter ‘17 Daniel W. Fletcher hits home with a political message, while also showing us why Steve Mcqueen was cool in racing stripes, Shag & Scooby were comfortable in brown, while making the case for punks trading in leather motos for a classic trench. Back to the political message for a sec: What would be the outcome of riding out these turbulent times? The answer is for sure a complicated one, but one thing we can all agree on is the fact we’ve earned a new perspective on how the world works.
Daniel W. Fletcher concurs, the London designer travels back to the 1970’s for inspiration and while there finds a familiar political parallel. Fletcher who spoke out against Brexit in his previous show, discusses this again but with a more positive—or rather, hopeful message, even though the outcome was not what he had wished. Models were put on podiums urging viewers to vote, highlighting the fact that 18-25 year olds voted overwhelmingly to stay in the European Union. Another important reason why it’s always important to show up.
