The immersive set of Changers made everyone feel as if they were behind the scenes; guests, staff, and stage stars alike. Upon entering La Mama theatre, guests were immediately greeted with a model bedroom inspired by the show’s set design, and of course, true New York City living, curated by Spike Jonze, Sam Spiegel and Sonos, complete with an epic sound experience and leftover french fries. Cinematographer Sam Levy and photographer Stef Mitchell stood by to capture moody pics of OC friends and fam in the apartment set. Babes from Ghetto Gastro served up Impossible Food vegan burgers (yes, one vegetarian stopped eating it bc he was genuinely worried it was real meat, meaning they were THAT good)) and sultry vodka cocktails, brought in by our friends at SVEDKA, to uninhibited guests striking a cheeky pose, hors d'oeuvres confidently in hand.
Backstage Holli Smith from Bumble and Bumble went to work creating the perfect messy bob for female lead and irresistible girl-next-door, Mia Wasikowska, as well as providing relaxed waves and a subtle sheen to her “changers” locks. Our favorite nail-guru, Naomi Nails painted stark graphic designs with bold primary colors to compliment fresh-faced make-up effortlessly applied by the experts at Maybelline.
In case you couldn’t score a ticket to the sold-out shows we wanted to share pics of what went on behind—and actually, in front of the scenes, see below for a low-down on the full week.
