We all know the phrase “BALL IS LIFE”, but some take it to a whole ‘nother level. Can you touch the net? No? Same. No shame though, you don’t have to wear a jersey or a snapback to love Basketball. Heck, you’re even allowed to be bad at the sport. Because the truth is, basketball’s reach extends way beyond the court. From Jordan 1’s pioneering the commercial value of an athletic endorsement (and the sneakerhead) to Iverson’s style decisions bringing hip-hop to the NBA and giving it mainstream notoriety.
No one knows the sport’s multifaceted impact better than Justin Montag, Chris Dea, and Brock Batten. A group of friends who turned their undying love for basketball and the artifacts of its influence into a publication. The trio jumped into the magazine game last year with Issue 1, returning again with number two. Details comes first though. Each issue is published quarterly with the quality of an art book. To be even nerdier about it, they are offset printed on 100 pages of premium stock with multiple paper types in 9.5x13” format.
Issue 2 is filled to the rim with different artist’s perspectives and inspirations that comes from the love of the game. The pages are vibrant with the publication’s message of “Style. Sport. Lifestyle. Vibrant, poetic photography and illustrations”. Below we share a few stats just to tease you from the issue’s roster. And if you think below looks legit (thank you) but take it from us, it looks way better in print 😉
